Pumpkin  is very rich in carotenoids , which are known to keep the immune system strong and healthy. It can be a powerful antioxidant, and beta carotene is also found in pumpkin and an anti- inflammatory agent. It helps to prevent build up of cholesterol on arterial walls, thus reducing chances of strokes. Rich in alpha- carotene, it is believed to slow down process of aging and some eye problems due to age. Good bowel health can be maintained with pumpkin due to amount of fiber. Loaded with potassium it will also help decrease hypertension. It can improve bone density.
